Equipment Overview
The Sumitomo SH145X is a 14.5-tonne minimum swing radius excavator, built with a compact counterweight and boom placement that keeps the machine’s work envelope tight for civil construction and mining sites. It’s mine-spec rated and comes standard with trenching, general purpose and batter buckets, suited to a wide range of site work from utility trenching to general excavation. A reinforced safety cabin is designed to keep cabin deformation to a minimum in the event of a rollover.
Power comes from an Isuzu diesel producing 70.9 kW (96 hp), paired with Sumitomo’s SIH:S+ hydraulic system for a 16% fuel saving over the previous DASH 3B generation. Bucket digging force is 90 kN, and travel speed runs to 5.6 km/h on high. The engine and hydraulics are tuned together to reduce environmental impact and running costs while keeping the digging performance expected of a conventional 14.5-tonne machine.
