Equipment Overview
The CAT 314 is a 14.5-tonne compact radius excavator, built so the counterweight barely extends past the track width when the machine swings a full 90 degrees over the side. That makes it a natural fit for residential construction, fence lines and any site crowded with buildings or hillsides where a conventional-swing machine would need extra clearance. It’s offered with a reach boom in three stick lengths, plus a power offset boom option for digging alongside walls without repositioning the whole machine.
The Cat C4.4 ACERT engine produces 71 kW gross (67 kW net), meeting EPA Tier 4 Interim emissions standards with an automatic regeneration system that runs without operator intervention. Two power modes, high power and economy, balance production against fuel use, and the machine can run on ultra-low-sulfur diesel or B20 biodiesel blends. An overfill indicator on the fuel tank helps avoid spills during refuelling.
