Elevating scraper is a type of self-loading earthmoving machine having conveyor belt that lift the material into the bowl, thereby eliminating the push tractor. While even more exceptional in fine-grading applications like those of site preparation, agricultural land development, and road construction, it works best where a sandy, loamy or well-graded soil is present. Belt scrapers have a higher efficiency rate than open bowl scrapers, but they can carry higher maintenance costs due to their complex conveyor mechanism.
