A rigid body dump truck, is a type of heavy-duty motor vehicle used for moving bulk materials in construction, mining, and quarrying environments. Unlike articulated dump trucks, rigid dump trucks have a fixed chassis, the cab and the dump body are connected to each other. This provides better stability and an increased ability to carry loads, so suited to heavy-duty hauling over flat or well prepared roads and sites. Rigid dump trucks are typically preferred for large-scale operations in which high payloads and continuous performance are needed.
