Equipment Overview

The CAT 613 is an elevating scraper built for self-loading, fine-grade earthwork, part of Caterpillar’s wheel tractor-scraper line alongside larger models such as the 615 and 623. It carries a heaped capacity of 8.4 cubic metres and an empty operating weight of close to 17 tonnes, sized for smaller subdivision development, landscaping, sports-field construction and finish-grading jobs where a compact self-loading scraper does the work of a dozer-and-loader combination in a single pass.

Power comes from a Cat C6.6 ATAAC engine rated at 135 kW (181 hp) net, driving a six-speed planetary powershift transmission through a torque converter carried over from Caterpillar’s D6N dozer for extra rimpull in the cut. A hydraulically driven elevator loads and unloads the bowl, and only the tractor’s rear wheels are driven; the scraper axle trails behind on its own wheels.
