Equipment Overview
The Liebherr R914 is a 14.9 to 16.8-tonne crawler excavator, the smallest in Liebherr’s line-up and built specifically for confined inner-city construction sites. Its rear slewing radius of just 1,550 mm lets it work safely close to buildings, traffic and site boundaries, and a rugged X-shaped undercarriage is available in three sizes to suit different site and transport requirements. Routine maintenance can be carried out at ground level, and an automatic central lubrication system cuts down daily servicing time.
Power comes from a Liebherr diesel engine producing 90 kW (122 hp), meeting EPA Tier 4 Final and EU Stage V emissions standards. The hydraulic system is tuned for high sensitivity, letting the operator work with precision at speed even while the machine is moving, and breakout forces are strong for the machine’s size. A sensor-controlled automatic idle system reduces fuel consumption during pauses in the work cycle.
