Equipment Overview
The Hitachi ZX225USLC is a 24.9-tonne short tail swing excavator, built so the rear of the machine stays close to the tracks through a full swing. That makes it well suited to road work, utility installation and confined urban sites where a conventional-swing excavator of the same class would need more clearance. It shares its core engineering with Hitachi’s ZAXIS medium excavator range, giving it the same digging performance as the conventional-swing ZX210LC in a more compact footprint.
Power comes from an Isuzu diesel producing 128.4 kW gross (122 kW net), the same rating as its conventional-swing sibling, so the reduced swing radius doesn’t come at the cost of digging force. Bucket digging force reaches around 158 kN, and the machine is fitted with an overload alert system and diesel particulate filter as standard, along with air conditioning for operator comfort on long shifts.
