Equipment Overview

The Komatsu PC15R is a 1.6-tonne mini excavator built around Komatsu’s CLSS closed load sensing hydraulic circuit, giving smooth, synchronised control across combined digging movements. Operating weight is 1,575 kg on rubber shoes (1,650 kg with the steel shoe option), and the machine is available in a High Stability (HS) version with hydraulic undercarriage extension operated from the driver’s seat, letting the operator widen the track gauge for stability without leaving the cab.

The Komatsu 3D68E-N3FB engine is a naturally aspirated, water-cooled 3-cylinder diesel producing 12.7 kW maximum (11.4 kW rated to SAE J1349) at 2,600 rpm, with 49 Nm of torque at 1,800 rpm. Drive is hydrostatic, through two axial piston travel motors and an epicyclic reduction gear, with a two-speed pedal for faster site-to-site transfers. Proportional PPC servo controls and a wide boom swing angle round out the working setup.
