Equipment Overview
The CAT 301 is a 1.6-tonne class mini excavator from Caterpillar’s Next Generation range, sitting above the 300.9D and built for a wider spread of construction, landscaping and utility work than a sub-1-tonne machine can handle. Its operating weight runs from 1,575 kg to 1,760 kg depending on track and undercarriage configuration, and a retractable undercarriage keeps it usable on sites where access is tight without giving up the digging performance of a full-sized 1.5-tonne machine.
The Cat C1.1 3-cylinder diesel engine delivers 16.1 kW gross (14.3 kW rated net) at 2,400 rpm and meets EPA Tier 4 Final and EU Stage V emissions standards. A variable displacement piston pump feeds a load-sensing hydraulic system, giving the machine two-speed travel and an automatic swing brake as standard. Rubber or steel tracks are available, and the undercarriage expands and retracts hydraulically for working in confined spaces.
