Equipment Overview

The Cat 306 CR is a 7.15-tonne mini excavator, the first model in Cat’s 6-tonne class, delivering maximum power and performance in a compact size for a wide range of applications. Zero tail swing and a narrow chassis let it work confidently in tight spaces, and major machine structures, including the upper and lower frames, track frames, boom and stick, are modelled after Cat’s larger excavators for long-term durability. Straight blade, angle blade or Extra Tool Carrier (XTC) configurations expand the machine’s flexibility on site.

Power comes from a Cat C2.4 turbo engine producing 55.9 hp (41.7 kW), meeting EPA Tier 4 Final, EU Stage V and Japan 2014 emissions standards. A load-sensing hydraulic system with an electronically controlled variable-displacement piston pump generates 46 gpm of flow, with 24 gpm available to the auxiliary circuit for attachments. Auto idle and auto engine shutdown help conserve fuel, and Cat Stick Steer lets operators switch from lever-and-pedal controls to joystick steering at the push of a button.
