Equipment Overview
The Komatsu PC88MR is an 8.5-tonne compact excavator built to complete tasks quickly and effectively, with fast cycle times and high digging speed driven by efficient arm and bucket forces. A compact short tail swing offers manoeuvrability in more confined areas than a conventional excavator, such as a single lane of traffic, and the conventional boom design has a greater raising angle to reduce the front bucket swing radius. High arm crowd and bucket curl forces work together to make tough digging conditions easier.
Power comes from a Komatsu engine producing 51 kW (68 hp), EPA Tier 4 Final emissions certified with a Komatsu Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (KDOC) that uses passive regeneration and needs no AdBlue or DEF. Six working modes let operators tailor the machine to the task, whether for performance or fuel savings, and standard high-flow auxiliary hydraulics with proportional joysticks give precise attachment control. Strategically placed LED lamps on the boom and cab improve operator visibility in low-light conditions.
