Equipment Overview
The Hitachi ZX135US is a 14.5-tonne ultra-short-tail excavator, built so the rear of the upper structure stays close to the tracks through a full swing. That makes it well suited to urban construction, utility work and confined sites where a conventional-swing machine would need extra clearance to work safely. It carries an ISO heaped bucket capacity of 0.45 to 0.59 m³ and a maximum digging depth of nearly 6 m, giving it enough reach for general excavation despite the compact swing.
Power comes from a diesel engine rated at 74.9 kW (100 hp), driving the machine through steel tracks fitted with 500 mm shoes. The ultra-short-tail design keeps the counterweight close in without sacrificing the digging force and lift capacity of a conventional 13 to 14-tonne excavator, and an overload alert system is fitted as standard to help the operator stay within the machine’s rated lift capacity.
