Equipment Overview
The Bell B30E is an articulated dump truck built for off-road hauling across broken, uneven ground, the largest of Bell’s E-series ADT range that also includes the smaller B18E, B20E, and B25E. Power comes from a Mercedes-Benz OM926 LA engine rated at 246 kW (334 hp) gross and 240 kW (322 hp) net. An Allison 3500 PR ORS six-speed electronic automatic transmission drives all six wheels through a Bell GR 10,000 transfer box and Bell 18T axles. Braking uses dry discs with eight calipers across the three axles, backed by an automatic exhaust brake, engine valve brake, and a variable hydraulic retarder for controlled descents. The front suspension uses a semi-independent A-frame with hydro-pneumatic struts.
