Komatsu PC490LC Large Excavator

The Komatsu PC490LC is an excavator in the 48-50 tonne category and was developed as a versatile and productive unit for difficult construction, quarrying, demolition and mass earthwork conditions. It has been built to be both productive and transportable from one project location to another. This is achieved through its superior digging ability, lifting ability, hydraulic precision and power. All these attributes make the PC490LC ideally suited for use in major capital works programs, such as road building, quarry operations and bulk earthworks operations that require both durability and maximum efficiency.

The PC490LC is powered by a high output Komatsu diesel engine and equipped with Komatsu’s advanced Closed Centre Load Sensing (CLSS) hydraulic system. As a result the machine provides smooth, precise hydraulic operation at very high breakout forces and very rapid cycle rates. The machine has also been fitted with a strong long undercarriage, heavy duty boom and arm, and strong upper structure providing stability for the use of large buckets, hydraulic rockbreakers, grapples etc., and for working in deep trenches, performing bulk excavation, truck loading and continuous production work.

The operator cab is well appointed for comfort and productivity features including good all round vision, ergonomically located joystick control levers, low noise level, low vibration levels and simple to understand machine monitoring systems. Service access doors open wide to allow easy access to routine service tasks whilst groupings of service components have been used to maximize time spent on site.
