Equipment Overview
The Hitachi ZX470 is a 47-tonne excavator built for heavy production work, with a reinforced upper structure frame using a proven D-section skirt for higher tensile strength than traditional welding techniques. A damage prevention plate and reinforced front attachment reduce burn-through on key parts, extending service life on demanding, continuous-use sites. Bucket capacity ranges from 1.15 to 2.65 m³ ISO heaped, covering mass excavation through to high-volume loading.
Power comes from a diesel engine producing 235 kW (315 hp), with an upgraded hydraulic system, ECO mode and auto-idle feature working together to conserve fuel while maintaining generous digging force and lift capacity. Improved arm controllability through a newly adopted variable orifice in the swing circuit gives smoother, more level front movement during luffing and crowding. The deluxe operator cab is well-ventilated with controls within easy reach and a luxury cloth seat for long shifts.
