Equipment Overview
The Hyundai R220 is a 21.9-tonne excavator built for high performance across general construction and civil works, with high stability on uneven surfaces and improved operator comfort over earlier generations. A one-piece cast control link and reinforced bucket linkages are built for high durability and strong digging forces, and arm regeneration recirculates hydraulic energy from the return line back to the pump supply line for smoother, faster arm operation.
Power comes from a Cummins 6-cylinder diesel producing around 110 kW (148 hp) gross at 2,000 rpm, with optimised fuel and lube oil consumption and low noise levels even in hot, humid or dusty conditions. Safety features include a counterbalance valve that applies hydrostatic braking to stop the machine rolling down steep slopes, and a holding valve that keeps attachments locked in place during prolonged overhanging work.
