It replaces the D6K2 in Caterpillar’s current lineup, carrying over the same size class while adding updated grading technology and a lower-sloping hood line for better visibility to the blade.

Power comes from the Cat C4.4 twin-turbo engine, which peaks at 160 hp (119 kW) and meets U.S. EPA Tier 4 Final, EU Stage V, Japan 2014, and Korea Stage V emission standards while emitting up to 5 percent less CO2 than the D6K2 it replaces. An infinitely variable hydrostatic transmission gives independent control of each track for tight steering and smooth acceleration, and the standard ARO with Assist package adds Slope Assist, Steer Assist, Blade Load Monitor, and AutoCarry.
