Equipment Overview
The Thwaites 6T is a site dumper built for construction site material handling, positioned between the smaller 3T and the larger 9T in Thwaites’ range. It carries a 6-tonne rated payload with a 180-degree swivel skip, an unladen weight of 4,460 kg, suited to civil earthworks and construction sites moving larger volumes of material than the 3T can manage in a single trip.
Power comes from a Perkins diesel engine, driving a four-speed powershift transmission to all four wheels. A foldable, certified ROPS frame protects the operator, and road lighting, a reverse alarm, and a rotating beacon come fitted as standard for site and road use. The articulation and oscillation joint keeps all four wheels planted across uneven ground, and the wide rear chassis with a low centre of gravity keeps the machine stable when the skip is fully loaded and tipping.
