The Cat D7 LGP is a low ground pressure dozer built for grading and earthmoving on soft or wet ground, part of Caterpillar’s Next Generation D1–D11 dozer range and the low ground pressure variant of the D7. It has 197 kW (265 hp) of net power, an operating weight of 29,589 kg, and a 6.11 m³ straight blade in standard configuration, suited to swampy, sandy, or unstable terrain where wide 915 mm tracks and lower ground pressure improve flotation.

Power comes from the Cat C9.3B engine, which meets U.S. EPA Tier 4 Final, EU Stage V, Japan 2014, Korea Tier 5, and China Nonroad Stage IV emission standards. A fully automatic 4-speed transmission with a lock-up clutch torque divider continuously matches gear and engine speed to the load, and the LGP undercarriage’s 915 mm shoes spread the machine’s weight to 44.5 kPa of ground pressure. A rear-mounted, multi-shank parallelogram ripper with up to three shanks is available for scarifying compacted ground.
