The Cat D6 LGP is a low ground pressure dozer built for grading and earthmoving on soft or wet ground, part of Caterpillar’s Next Generation D1–D11 dozer range and the low ground pressure variant of the D6. It has 161 kW (215 hp) of net power, an operating weight of 23,911 kg, and a 3.8 m³ straight blade in standard configuration, suited to swampy, sandy, or unstable terrain where wide 915 mm tracks and lower ground pressure improve flotation.

Power comes from the Cat C9.3B engine, which meets Brazil MAR-1 and UN ECE R96 Stage IIIA emission standards, equivalent to U.S. EPA Tier 3/EU Stage IIIA. A fully automatic 4-speed powershift transmission with a lock-up clutch continuously matches gear and engine speed to the load, and the LGP undercarriage’s 915 mm shoes spread the machine’s weight to just 36 kPa of ground pressure. A rear-mounted parallelogram ripper with up to three shank positions is available for scarifying compacted ground.
