Equipment Overview
The Komatsu WA480 is a wheel loader built for quarry and heavy construction work, positioned above the WA470 in Komatsu’s WA wheel loader range, current as the WA480-8. Power comes from a Komatsu SAA6D125E-7 engine EPA Tier 4 Final certified, with up to 20% improved fuel consumption compared to the previous WA480-6. A Yard Loader arrangement with a 5.5 m³ high-performance bucket, improved brake cooling, and a heavier counterweight is designed to three-pass typical on-highway trucks, and the newly designed bucket’s curved leading edges and increased heel radius make it easier to fill for shorter cycle times.
