Equipment Overview
The Komatsu PC850 is Komatsu’s largest construction excavator, a 79.9-tonne machine combining powerful digging force with a variety of operating modes to maximise productivity and efficiency. Available in backhoe and face shovel configurations, key components are designed and manufactured by Komatsu to work together as an integrated package, and the machine comes standard with KOMTRAX remote monitoring and location tracking backed by Komatsu’s service and support network.
Power comes from a Komatsu SAA6D140E-5 engine producing 370 kW (496 hp) at 1,800 rpm. A one-touch Power Max function increases digging force for around 8.5 seconds of extra punch, and an arm quick return circuit returns a portion of oil flow directly to the hydraulic tank for faster arm dumping. Power and Economy modes let the operator match performance to the application, and Komatsu KVX hard materials combined with long-life KMAX teeth give the bucket excellent wear resistance for quarry and mining work.
