The Dynapac CA4000PD – a heavy hitter in the world of road construction and earthworks. This powerful padfoot single drum roller is designed to tackle even the toughest sites with ease, putting in a solid performance on cohesive and semi-cohesive soils, and sites that require a bit of both.
Built to last with strength, reliability and a healthy dose of operator comfort, this roller packs a punch when it comes to delivering solid compaction results and a long lifespan on even the most challenging sites you can throw at it.
Under the hood – or rather under the bonnet, you’ve got a Cummins QSB4.5 turbocharged diesel engine that’s putting out a respectable 119kW (160hp) at 2,200 rpm. That gives you plenty of torque, decent fuel efficiency and – last but not least – low emissions, so you can feel good about what this machine is putting out in terms of output.
The hydrostatic drive system here is a real plus, giving you a silky smooth ride and precise control, along with separate hydraulic circuits for the drum and rear axle. The dual-amplitude vibratory system is no slouch either – with amplitudes of 2.0mm (high) and 1.0mm (low) and the ability to crank out centrifugal forces of up to 280kN for deep, uniform compaction across a wide variety of soil types.
When it comes to the actual numbers – this thing weighs in at 13,100kg, with a drum width of 2,130mm – and on top of that, you get some very nice range of motion with a articulated frame that gives you a ±38° steering angle and ±9° oscillation. The padfoot drum itself is the real hero here, with its ability to penetrate soil with ease and get a good, solid compaction on clay, silt and mixed materials.
Inside the cab, you’ve got an operator station that’s been carefully designed with the operator in mind – think ROPS or enclosed cab, a vibration-isolated platform and excellent visibility. Plus there are all sorts of little features that add up to increased productivity and less downtime – like easy maintenance access, an EcoMode fuel-saving system and traction control.
So in short the Dynapac CA4000PD is a solid choice for anyone tackling serious earthwork and road base applications – delivering deep compaction, decent fuel efficiency and a seriously comfortable ride for the operator.
