Equipment Overview

The Cat D7 is a medium dozer built for high-production dozing and grading, part of Caterpillar’s Next Generation D1–D11 dozer range and the successor to the D7E. It has 197 kW (265 hp) of net power and a 7.42 m³ semi-universal blade in standard configuration, suited to civil construction, quarrying, and pipeline or utility corridor work where high production and undercarriage durability matter.

Power comes from the Cat C9.3B engine, which meets U.S. EPA Tier 4 Final, EU Stage V, Japan 2014, Korea Tier 5, and China Nonroad Stage IV emission standards. A fully automatic 4-speed transmission with a lock-up clutch torque divider continuously matches gear and engine speed to the load, and an elevated final-drive sprocket lifts the drivetrain clear of ground impacts for better ride and longer service life. A rear-mounted, multi-shank parallelogram ripper with up to three shanks is available for scarifying hard or compacted ground.
