The Cat D8 is a medium dozer built for high-production dozing and ripping, part of Caterpillar’s Next Generation D1–D11 dozer range and the successor to the D8T. A fully automatic 4-speed transmission with a lock-up clutch continuously matches gear and engine speed to the load, and differential steering keeps full power to both tracks through turns, even under load. A single- or multi-shank adjustable parallelogram ripper is available for scarifying compacted or rocky ground.
