XCMG XC958 Wheel Loader

The XCMG XC958 – a serious piece of kit for the toughest construction, quarrying and material-handling jobs. Its part of XCMG’s XC9 series which shows just what they’re capable of. You get strength, efficiency and all sorts of comforts – all blending together to deliver the goods in pretty poor conditions.

This thing is powered by 164 kw of Cummins power – a big, turbocharged diesel that gives plenty of oomph and isn’t too thirsty on the fuel either. The ZF torque converter transmission and those heavy-duty axles with wet brakes all work together to make sure you get a smooth ride – no nasty bumps or stoppages. Then there’s the load-sensing hydraulic system – which gives you just the right amount of power when you need it and helps you to stay on top of any situation. And, just to keep everything running sweetly, the intelligent cooling system has a reversing fan that keeps the temperature down even in sweltering heat or dusty conditions.

With an operating weight of 18,700 kg, a 5.5 tonne capacity and a 3.0m³ bucket the XC958 is a powerhouse – it can even generate 175 kN of breakout force. The frame and components are all built to last so you can keep on trucking without having to worry about breakdowns all the time – and things like centralised lubrication and big hinged covers make it easy to maintain.

The cab is an absolute winner too – it’s ROPS/FOPS certified so its up to the job and has all the comforts you need to get through a long shift – suspension seat, ergonomic controls, climate control and nice and quiet in there too.
