Equipment Overview
The Hitachi EX3600 is a 370-tonne mining excavator delivering high production performance for mid to large-scale mining operations, combining powerful excavation capability with stable and confident machine control. Available in backhoe or front-shovel configuration, it supports pass match with 140 to 220-tonne class dump trucks. A stronger, more durable mainframe disperses stress more evenly than previous models, and Hitachi’s patented, induction-hardened track shoe design mitigates premature drive-lug wear.
Power comes from a Cummins engine producing 1,450 kW (1,944 hp), with an MTU alternative also available, reducing fuel consumption by around 4% compared with the previous Dash-6 model. Bucket digging force reaches 1,166 kN, and backhoe bucket capacity ranges from 22.0 to 24.0 m³. Three genuine bucket options, Light Duty, General Purpose and Heavy Duty, suit different applications and site conditions, and the machine comes standard with Hitachi’s Global e-Service remote machine management system.
