The Cat D4 LGP is a low ground pressure dozer built for grading, backfilling, and earthmoving on soft or wet ground, part of Caterpillar’s Next Generation D1–D11 dozer range and the low ground pressure variant of the D4 (formerly D6K2). It has 97 kW (130 hp) of net power, an operating weight of 14,008 kg, and a 3.81 m³ VPAT blade in standard configuration, suited to swampy, sandy, or unstable terrain where wider tracks and lower ground pressure improve flotation.

Power comes from the Cat C4.4 twin-turbo engine, which meets U.S. EPA Tier 4 Final, EU Stage V, Japan 2014, and Korea Stage V emission standards. A hydrostatic, infinitely variable transmission gives smooth, precise control for fine grading, and the LGP undercarriage’s 760 mm shoes spread the machine’s weight to just 31 kPa of ground pressure, well below the standard D4’s 40.5 kPa. A three-pocket parallelogram ripper is available for scarifying compacted ground.
