Equipment Overview
The Cat 256 is a radial-lift skid steer loader built for excellent digging performance and outstanding drawbar power, part of Caterpillar’s skid steer loader range. It delivers 82 hp from a Cat turbo diesel engine and a 1,065 kg rated operating capacity, with an industry-first sealed and pressurized cab keeping dust out for greater operator comfort.
Power comes from a Cat C3.4 DIT turbocharged diesel engine driving a 1-speed or 2-speed hydrostatic transmission through 100HS drive chains. Electronic Torque Management and a standard foot throttle allow the machine to be run at part throttle for lower sound levels and fuel consumption, and an optional High Flow XPS hydraulic system is available for applications demanding maximum work tool performance.
