Hitachi EX1900 Extra-Large Excavator

The Hitachi EX1900 is a monster hydraulic excavators built for hauling crazy amounts of material in huge mines – the kind of places where you really need something with some serious heft. It’s designed to keep pace with the really big dump trucks – the ones that can haul 100 to 150 tonnes of dirt. And it delivers – loads of digging power, very fast cycle times, and a more than solid build that can take the punishment of really rough mining work.

Behind the wheel is a seriously powerful diesel engine and a hydraulic system that just never stops giving, and with the added bonus of very smooth multi-function control you can get on and off the trucks, and get on with the digging in no time. The boom, arm and undercarriage are all much sturdier than you’d expect, so even when the going gets really tough the EX1900 keeps on trucking.

But of course, all that digging is only as good as the view from the drivers seat, – and the EX1900 really delivers there too – nice big windows for a great view of the surrounding area, proper controls to make life easy for him (or her) on the inside, and a comfy little office away from the dust and noise.

Hitachi threw the kitchen sink at the EX1900, and it really shows – it’s a machine built for one thing and one thing only: moving big loads, in big quantities, without stopping.
